MEET OUR STAFF
Nicola – Nicola (known as Ninny to the children, hence the name!) started Ninny’s House 9 years ago as a lone childminder, since which time the Ninny’s House family has grown beyond all expectations! Nicola has a background as a specialist paediatric physiotherapist, and holds a Masters degree in the Management of Childhood Disability. Nicola is currently completing her BA in Children’s Development and Learning, and has a passion for promoting a play based, child centred approach in early years’ care and education.
Clare – Clare is our qualified Early Years’ Teacher and Forest School Leader. Clare has a passion for outdoor learning and takes groups of our preschool children to our on-site Forest School two to three times per week. Clare is also the mentor for our staff undertaking their level 3 Early Years’ Educator qualification, and supports those staff through their qualification whilst linking this with the outdoor ethos that is central to our Ninny’s House pedagogy.
Louise – Louise is our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) and is midway through her BA in Children’s Development and Learning. Louise excels in delivering our child centred approach, supporting children and families through transitions such as settling in at Ninny’s House or starting school, and provides specifically tailored individual plans for our children with additional needs.
Sue – Sue is our qualified teacher, with over thirty years’ experience of teaching at primary level, as well as with children with additional needs. Sue chose to change her path to early years education to get back to ‘the heart’ of being with children. Sue works particularly with our preschool children, developing their independence skills in readiness for them to start school.
Brennan Bulpitt – Brennan is currently completing her Level 3 Early Years’ Educator qualification. Brennan has a passion for supporting children in developing their sports and team playing skills, and she has previously played cricket at county level. The children really enjoy sharing in her sports sessions, where they learn the strengths of team work whilst also developing their sense of self-esteem and pride in their own abilities. Brennan also supports Clare in delivering Forest School sessions.
Emilee Davis – Emilee is currently undertaking her Early Years’ Educator level 3 qualification. Emily has an instinctive ability with our youngest children, and they settle quickly and confidently under her care. Emilee prides herself on delivering a child-centred approach, with her indepth and individual knowledge of each of her key children. Emilee aspires to progress to her Foundation Degree in Children’s Development and Learning once she has completed her level 3 qualification.
Emily Hurley – Emily is also undertaking her level 3 Early Years’ Educator qualification, and began with us at Ninny’s House after six years of early years’ experience elsewhere. Emily has a passion for supporting children individually to ensure that they each reach their own developmental potential. She has a particular talent for working with children with additional needs, and aspires to pursue this aspect of her early years’ career.
Zoe Steers – Zoe is our nursery cook, who provides delicious, home cooked lunches and puddings for the children each day. The children love going to visit her in the kitchen to collect their morning snack and Zoe loves to be able to spend time with the children reading them a story when she has opportunity.
